FAQ

To change the color of hydrangea blooms, you can alter the soil pH. Acidic soil (pH below 6) produces blue flowers, while alkaline soil (pH above 7) results in pink flowers. You can use additives like aluminum sulfate for blue blooms or lime for pink blooms.

Yellowing hydrangea leaves can be caused by various factors, including nutrient deficiencies, overwatering, poor drainage, pests, or diseases. Check for signs of these issues and address them accordingly to restore leaf health.

The best time to prune hydrangeas depends on their type. For most hydrangeas, it's recommended to prune immediately after flowering, removing old blooms and cutting back any dead or weak stems. Avoid severe pruning, as it may reduce next year's flowers.

Hydrangeas generally require regular watering, especially during dry spells. Water deeply and thoroughly, keeping the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Adjust the frequency based on weather conditions and the moisture retention capacity of the soil.

Yes, hydrangeas can grow well in pots or containers. Choose a container with good drainage, use a well-draining potting mix, and provide proper care, including watering, fertilizing, and suitable sunlight exposure. Ensure the pot is large enough to accommodate the plant's root system.

There are several types of hydrangeas, including Bigleaf (Hydrangea macrophylla), Panicle (Hydrangea paniculata), Smooth (Hydrangea arborescens), and Oakleaf (Hydrangea quercifolia). Each type has specific care requirements in terms of pruning, sunlight, water needs, and overall maintenance. Research the specific type you have for detailed care guidelines.

Better than I'd hoped
I wanted two fairly rare plants. Prefer to choose my own of course, but no one had them. Jungle Collective did, online, so despite mixed reviews I ordered them, to pick up from a pop-up pick-up place. Well, the pop-up was cancelled and I couldn't reach anyone to see what was happening. Understandable - this IS a small business, not Flower Power. But they said they'd be in touch so I waited and they were, and the next day the plants were delivered, beautiful and in perfect condition! (I didn't request or pay for delivery.) And when I say the plants are beautiful - I mean beautiful. They're larger than I hoped, well established, healthy and full of leaves, and one has three plants in the pot. They're putting out new leaves already, 3 weeks later. So, excellent plants, very good prices and considerate service. Based on my experience I recommend Jungle Collective without reservation.
