Care Tips For Calathea Makoyana (Peacock Plant)

• Indirect Lighting

Calathea Makoyana prefers indirect, bright light. Direct sunlight should be avoided as it can scorch its leaves, diminishing their vibrant patterns. A north-facing or east-facing window covered with a sheer curtain provides the ideal lighting conditions. It’s crucial to rotate the plant periodically to ensure even growth and prevent leaning towards the light source.

• Chemical-free Watering

Consistent moisture is key to the Peacock Plant’s health. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch, using lukewarm, filtered water. Calathea Makoyana is sensitive to chemicals commonly found in tap water, such as fluoride and chlorine, which can cause leaf tip browning.
