Syngonium Confetti Introduction

Syngonium Confetti is famous for it’s unique and distinct foliage with pink splashes on a light green leaf. Like most Syngoniums the Syngonium Confetti is fast growing and an easy care plant. Not to be mistaken with Syngonium Milk Confetti, which is a whiter leaf rather than the light green.

Syngonium Confetti Natural Environment

Syngonium Confetti is indigenous to the rainforests of Southern Mexico through to Bolivia. It will therefore benefit from slightly more humid conditions but should do fine in most households.

Syngonium Confetti Lighting

Like most Syngoniums it can handle fairly low light conditions. In saying that, it will grower faster and have more vibrant leaves if grown in bright indirect light. In more tropical environments it can be grown outdoors, best in dappled shade.

Syngonium Confetti Fertiliser

Syngonium confetti comes from Central and northern South American where it grows as a vine up the trunks of tropical rainforest trees, secured by its roots. In this environment, the plant is rained upon very regularly and fertilised with a very dilute solution of nutrients from decaying plant material above it on the tree. The roots then dry off between rain showers in the gentle breezes. They will therefore benefit from feeding diluted liquid fertiliser during the active growing months.

Syngonium Confetti Tips & Propagation

Eventually the vines can become too long to manage easily and then it is time to take cuttings and start new plants or pot back into the mother pot to make a denser display. Cuttings root easily in water or moist soil. Repot every 3 years or so.

Syngonium Confetti Pests

Syngoniums are relatively pest-free but occasionally you may encounter spider mites (especially if the humidity is low), or mealybugs.

Syngonium Confetti Toxicity

Like other aroids, Syngoniums contain calcium oxalate crystals and are therefore toxic / poisonous to pets and humans.
