Watch out Buggies, the Plants are on the attack! And they won’t stop at just bugs, the World’s biggest Nepenthe (Pitcher Plant) the Nepenthes rajah has been known to eat rats! But before you have nightmares rest assured you’re pretty safe not to lose a hand with these guys and this little introduction is a visual introduction to some of the most common and popular meat eater plants available. The most famous carnivorous plant is likely to be the Venus Fly Trap, a plant compulsory to own at least once while growing up but equally popular with adults. The Nepenthe or Pitcher Plant is the most striking of the Carnivorous plants with their big saxophone like catchers, that come in an array of shapes, sizes, colours and patterns. Drosera Sundews are another popular Carnivorous Plant and their sticky foliage is a gem for getting those fungus gnats under control. Last but not least is the Sarracenia or Trumpet pitchers that share the magnificence of the Nepenthe foliage colours and patterns.
